FRANCIS EDWARD B. BAYON – Bong graduated from the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City in 1986, with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Geology. He also earned a Diploma in Geothermal Energy Technology in University of Auckland, New Zealand, in 1995. In 2011, he passed the Basic Management Program course at Asian Institute of Management, Philippines. He started his professional career with Pilipinas Geotecnica Corporation as Engineering Geologist. In 1992 he joined PNOC-EDC as Exploration Geochemist/Geologist and was promoted to Supervising Exploration Geochemist in 2004. This culminated to a Geosciences Manager position in 2011 until his resignation from EDC last December 2013 to pursue independent consultancy work. His more than 20 years career with PNOC-EDC and later EDC has given him valuable experience in the fields of Geothermal Geoscience and Resource Modeling, Exploration and Development, Geothermal Drilling and Testing, Resource Management, and Hydrogeology. He is concurrently a key associate-consultant with FEDS Energy.
