Short Biography of Some Key Persons

 

  LEONIDES C. RAMOS, Mineral Exploration and Development
LEONIDES C. RAMOS – Leonie is a well-seasoned professional geologist in the mineral industry in the Philippines and Indonesia. He has a B.S. Geology degree from the University of the Philippines. He trained in all aspects of geothermal exploration at PNOC-EDC Leyte geothermal project in the summer of 1979. Upon earning his degree, he pursued a career in exploration geology for different companies engaged in mineral exploration and development. From 1980-83, he worked for the affiliated companies, Eikon Minerals Inc. and Surigao Consolidated Mining Co., Inc. (SURICON), as exploration geologist doing field surface mapping, drilling/test-pitting/trenching supervision, and other mineral investigation works. In 1983-84, he worked as underground mine geologist for Apex Mining Co., Inc. in addition to his task in surface exploration. He was engaged again by SURICON in 1984-85 to work as senior open pit geologist in their operating mine with different mineral property evaluation assignments from time to time. He became an Exploration Manager of Apex Mining in 1985-89. In 1989-90, he was Exploration Manager of Value Minerals Inc. which was operating an underground mine in southern Philippines and doing prospecting, exploration and evaluation in all gold rush areas in the same region. From 1991-94, he worked as wellsite geologist of Energy Manpower Services Inc. in drilling projects owned and operated by Philippine Geothermal Inc. and Japan National Oil Co. He was Project Manager of Alcorn Petroleum and Minerals Corp. in 1994-97, chiefly managing and overseeing all aspects of surface exploration, mine development and exploitation of the company's operating mine and other gold projects. He worked overseas in 1997-98 as Project Manager for Pacific Amber Resources Ltd., directing, supervising and coordinating the implementation of the approved exploration-evaluation program of the company over its contract area in East Kalimantan Island in Indonesia for porphyry copper and other commodities. Since 1998, he is the Vice President for Minerals Division of Alcorn Gold Resources Corp. a Philippine company engaged in petroleum, coal, iron, gold and copper exploration, and other mining activities as well as other non-technical diversification activities. He is currently a consultant-associate with FEDS Energy.
